DAM to DAM...

Mom and Me with the sign she made me! Andy and the kids didn't end up coming, but it was so crazy sticking with mom and dad because of all the people...throw a stroller and four kids in that we would have been in real trouble!
I think this is me at the finish maybe

I started and completed Dam to Dam today!!!! Yeah!!!!! My goal time was 2:00:00 but I ended up with a time of 2:08:28...I didn't realize...or think about the delay at the beginning of a race with 4800 people. So that is what I'm using as my excuse!!! Anyway I'm glad I did it! I am planning on starting training now for the DSM Marathon which is 20 weeks from tomorrow...I am torn right now because 12.4 miles was hard...I think it's like having a baby, you give birth and then someone says "hey when are you having more?!" Yeah you know!
So I will probably do the DSM 1/2 and maybe if I'm feeling real crazy I'll end up running 26.2 miles the year I turn 26, who knows!
And for honorable mention Dad aka GPA Jan gets full credit for slaving over the computer to
e-mail me the pictures so I could post them on the blog!!!!
Also I drug poor Aunt June out of bed so I could use her potty instead of using the stinky portapotty (the line was a good 80 people long and just walking by I thought I was going to vomit). So thanks Aunt June. She did tell me however that I should have called her yesterday to let her know I was coming. I quickly let her know I wasn't being rude...I didn't know yesterday I had to go!!

Jacob is ONE

Some how I have a date stamp turned on that is very wrong and I'm not sure how to get it off! This cake was pictured on the front of my Family Fun magazine. (THX GMA H)So we thought we would give it a try. It was sort of messy to make but not too bad.
Jake with his cake! It's supposed to be a sand castle, in case you couldn't tell!
The cake makers and the birthday boy! I told them I'm going to send their pic to the magazine and see if we can get published in the Mailbox section...I'll keep you updated. We are going to try to have a party for him. Hopefully around the 29th. Invitations to follow!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAKE!!!!!

Mother's Day

This is what I woke up to on Mother's Day. Caleb came in and told me later that he was going to get up at 5:30 to make my breakfast, but decided to wait until 5:59. Yeah that is AM. He was very excited because usually no one ever gets up early enough to make breakfast in bed for me. He had it all arranged on the tray for me and everything. That's why I just had to take a picture. I also got very nice cards from him and Ashleigh. Ashleigh also brought home a small paper teapot she had colored and it had a tea bag inside. So she had tea outside in the gazebo with me one morning.
So I guess the little heathens aren't that bad...but why can't everyday be Mother's Day?

Out for a jog

Jake and Jocee pre jog
Jake and Jocee post jog
Jocee post jog happy at the park!!!
For the most part jogging with the babies goes well. Jake is never happy about being straped in, but he is usually fine once we start moving. This day we had about a 1/4 mile left to go and Jocee started bawling. J: Jake bit me! M: Well don't put your fingers in his mouth. J:I wasn't trying to, I was just feeding him a goldfish. M:Are you okay? J:Yeah!
So needless to say Jocee doesn't "feed" Jake anymore she just hands him food!

Jocee's new BFF

Jocee and Lola
Jocee and Lola on a jog
We dog sat Lola for Joel and Kate while they went out of town. Needless to say Jocee is in LOVE! She couldn't get enough! We came home one day and the boys were already here and Jocee opened up the garage door and out bounded Lola. She ran across the street, and our neighbor John caught her immediately. Unfortunately it wasn't as easy to calm Jocee down. She cried hysterically for a good 10 minutes because she was so scared her friend Lola was lost.

Working outside

The finished product
Okay this is a great angle I know...I guess you'll have to just drive by to get the full effect
Jocee and Caleb
the boys working hard
the girls not working so hard...just worm hunting

Daddy working on the driveway
Jocee getting some protein
Ash too!
Even Jake wanted in on the worm eating
Caleb with a huge worm!

We came home from getting our picture taken for the GMAs and daddy was working on the driveway. The kids were all wearing new white shirts so why wouldn't they want to help haul dirt!

Being outside

Jake chewing on his trike. Last year when Jake was first born I found this trike at a garage sale in almost perfect condition for $2.00 and couldn't decide if I should get it because after all it would be forever before he could use it. Now I'm glad I got it!
Jake and Jocee with her mouthful of fruitsnacks!
The one requirement that Jake and Jocee have to being happy is being outside. They love it and can't get enough. I'll have to post some pictures of Jake trying to get out the screen. He stands in the kitchen and trys very hard to squeeze his little fingers through the crack to pull the screen open to go out and play with the kids.

May Day

These where some of our May Day baskets we got from friends, family and neighbors. These kids had sooooo much candy they couldn't even sit still for the picture. They just kept giggling.
